![]() ![]() ![]() This is a low key problem, and honestly doesn't bother me on a day to day basis, but the ability to go to a friends house and access my music is much more limited with Apple Music. Spotify is also social in a way that AM hasn't seemed to crack yet, with situations like Edgar Wright tweeting a Spotify Playlist of his favorite songs of 2017. The playlists on offer in AM seem much more rigid, much shorter, and not nearly as tailored to my tastes. ![]() hell, they're lacking even compared to Google Music. As mentioned, the discovery features in Apple Music are simply lacking compared to Spotify. Again, I'm sure the opposite is true as well, I'm just speaking form my experience. + This might be pure fluke, and I'm sure both services have compromises, but I've personally found a couple artists (Bill Callahan, for example) I listen to that simply aren't on Spotify. This might be due in part to familiarity, I've used iTunes and Apple Music for years, but I personally find it a bit easier to get through Apple Music, and how content is displayed. As well, there are a few YouTube musicians who don't have official releases, so being able to rip the audio and upload it for listening is great. This is exceptionally handy as I have a lot of unofficial live bootlegs for some of my favorite bands. + It integrates my existing digital library, and I can upload my own music. Here's a rundown of my opinions of each service. ![]() However, Spotify has proven to have some truly obnoxious quirks, and a couple features missing from Apple Music that I don't know if I can get rid of, and I've found myself just using both depending on the circumstance. I went in with the idea that if I stick with it and get comfortable, I'll make the switch. So I've been on Apple Music forever, but recently decided to give Spotify a try because of its playlist/discovery features. ![]()
